Hedge trimming & bed care
A sharp lawn with shaggy hedges still looks unfinished. Homigo's hedge and bed care covers the detail work: trimming, shaping, weeding, and mulch — the parts of a yard people actually notice up close.
Hedge & shrub trimming
We trim and shape hedges, foundation shrubs, and small ornamentals at the right time for the species — most deciduous hedges in Chicagoland take their main shaping in early summer with a light touch-up in late summer. All trimmings are cleaned up and hauled away.
Bed weeding & edging
Beds get hand-weeded and re-edged with a clean spade cut or blade edge, so the line between turf and bed stays crisp through the season. Add it to a recurring mowing plan monthly and beds never get away from you.
Mulch installation
We supply and install hardwood mulch at a proper 2–3 inch depth — enough to suppress weeds and hold moisture, never volcano-piled against trunks. Color and type options vary by area; ask when you request a quote.
Frequently asked questions
How often should hedges be trimmed?
Most hedges look their best with two trims per season — a main shaping in early summer and a touch-up 6–8 weeks later. Fast growers like privet may want three.
Can I bundle bed care with my mowing plan?
Yes — monthly bed care added to a mowing plan is our most popular bundle, and it's priced lower than booking it standalone.
Do you plant flowers or do full landscaping design?
Our focus is maintenance: trimming, weeding, edging, and mulch. For seasonal planting requests, ask — we can often accommodate small installs.
